Extensively filled back teeth can now be rebuilt with the modern technology of porcelain to restore teeth to their prefilled condition. Utilising highly glazed colour matched ceramic back teeth (molars, premolars) can be rebuilt to ideal long term strength. Teeth that are heavily filled with amalgam (silver filling) are at risk of fracturing and can be restored with porcelain inlays which preserves the remaining healthy tooth structure. The inlays are bonded to the tooth and can protect the tooth from further fracture. Smiles can even be widened using this technology.
